Civilization diseases
Ordering and defining the very concept of a civilization disease.
Wrocław · since 2026 · interdisciplinary
Welcome to ITPCC – a dynamic association of experts whose mission is to combat civilization diseases through interdisciplinary collaboration, analysis and reflection on knowledge gathered by various fields of science, and harnessing the potential of new technologies, innovative research, and effective strategies for health promotion, prophylaxis, and prevention.
Working definition
Civilization diseases — are a heterogeneous, dynamically changing group of disorders with a common denominator: a similar etiological context — conditions whose onset is shaped by health-adverse environmental factors arising from specific civilizational processes.
The definition is at once very broad and decidedly non-obvious — today more a set of questions than ready answers. Sharpening it is one of our first tasks.

01 — About
Based in Wrocław. Active across Poland and beyond.
We are the Interdisciplinary Society for the Prevention of Lifestyle Diseases (ITPCC / ISPLD). Our headquarters are located in Wrocław. We operate actively throughout Poland and beyond its borders.
Our mission is to combat civilization diseases, also known as lifestyle diseases. We aim to effectively prevent these conditions and their negative consequences. We combine the knowledge and experience of experts from various fields to achieve this goal.
We support scientific research that helps understand the causes of civilization diseases. We are particularly interested in the impact of stress, new technologies, and working conditions on human health. We share our acquired knowledge and develop new prevention methods.
Organisation
The Society is made of people from very different backgrounds. Here are the first profiles — more, together with the governance and Scientific & Expert Council, will follow soon.
CTO/AI · co-owner of ITSG Global
Over 30 years in technology, today in AI adoption. Creator of the Cortex platform; a graduate of MIT Sloan / CSAIL (AI). Studies the human–technology boundary and the "hygiene" of AI use (OnTilt) — directly tied to cyber-conditions.
Full bioPhysician & medical informatician
Over 20 years of interdisciplinary research (Pasteur Institute, Medical University of Vienna, Jagiellonian University). Since 2021 a visiting researcher at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health. Co-author of 40+ papers and a patent; health economics (LSE), biomedical informatics (Stanford).
Full bioCustomer experience & sales processes
A customer-experience and B2B/B2C sales-process specialist; since 2025 at Google in Dublin. Brings a perspective of communication, business and everyday patterns — with an interest in wellbeing, habits and coping with stress.
Full bioBoard · Audit Committee · Scientific & Expert Council — being formed
02 — Goals
directions of action
We have clearly defined goals. We strive for better understanding and effective prevention of civilization diseases. Here are our main areas of activity:
03 — Areas
Areas for initial reflection, research, definition and action. The Society organises its thinking and activity around them.
Ordering and defining the very concept of a civilization disease.
New civilizational phenomena and new civilization diseases — also in a historical dimension.
The human, health and disease against modifications of the technological, social and cultural environment.
The impact of technology as a risk factor for civilization diseases.
The specifics of exposure to digital environments and the cyber-conditions arising from it.
Flagship area
AI as a determinant of a multi-level technological, social and cultural revolution — at once a risk factor for new civilization diseases and a key tool for their prevention and treatment.
04 — Activities
We combine rigorous research, more relaxed educational work and the building of a network of relationships.
Reflection
Shared reflection on selected areas.
Research
Rigorous research — some of it already underway.
Education
Popular-science content, articles, podcasts.
Networks
Areas and opportunities to integrate the community.
Partners
Cooperation with science and business partners.
